Drug and Alcohol Interventions
Drug and alcohol interventions can be an effective way to motivate a loved one who’s suffering from addiction to find the strength to accept care. While Sobriety Options does not offer intervention services directly, our Admission Advisors and clinical staff members can walk you through the process of conducting a successful intervention on your own.
It’s important, first and foremost, to understand that you should always approach an intervention with careful planning and love as an unplanned, overly confrontational intervention attempt may only turn your loved one away even further.
The Mayo Clinic has a concise outline of how to prepare for a successful intervention. These steps include:
- Make a plan with someone that understands interventions.
- Gather as much information about your loved one as possible.
- Form the team.
- Decide on specific outcomes the group wants to achieve.
- Make detailed notes on what each person wants to say.
- Hold the meeting.
- Follow up.
Admission Advisors are Here to Help with Drug and Alcohol Interventions
Sobriety Options has some of the most highly trained staff in our Admissions department, most of which have gone through recovery themselves and understand the intervention process intimately. We are more than happy to help you plan for a successful intervention. In addition, we will verify your loved one’s insurance benefits and determine if their treatment will be covered completely by insurance. This way, you’ll have a treatment option available. In addition, we can arrange travel to and from one of our locations so you have not only a program your loved one is approved for but all travel arrangements made ahead of time, this way, you have all your ducks in a row before conducting the intervention.
